Feeling unsure where to start with academic writing - or how to take your work to the next level? These sessions aim to provide supportive, flexible academic writing skills, designed for students of all levels and abilities.

Delivered over a 5-week rolling programme, these interactive workshops help you build confidence, develop essential writing skills, and understand what university-level writing really means. You can attend the full pathway or dip into the sessions that best match your needs.

To make it as accessible as possible, sessions are delivered both in-person and online, running in opposite orders - giving you more choice and flexibility.

What's covered?

Session 1: Your Guide to Academic Writing – Understand the fundamentals academic writing and what lecturers are looking for

Session 2: Preparation Is Key – Learn how to plan and structure an assignment effectively

Session 3: Paraphrasing: Say It Your Way – Develop skills to integrate sources confidently and avoid plagiarism

Session 4: Critical Writing –  Learn how to move beyond descriptive writing to analyse and evaluate source material

Session 5: Synthesising Information – Bring sources together to create strong, coherent arguments

At the end of each 5-week cycle, the pathway starts again, so you’ll always have another chance to join.
